What this is
Storage Index answers one question properly: what does self storage really cost, town by town. 4,234 stores mapped across 380 towns, distances computed, benchmarks cited, and a monthly price sweep that publishes standard rates with their checked dates.
Who runs it
Storage Index is run by the team behind BoxSpeed, a collect-and-store service. We list every store we can find and never take money for ranking. BoxSpeed and Storage Index are run by the same Oxfordshire-based family business behind the PianoSpeed group. We built the index because storage pricing is opaque and the comparison sites that exist take listing fees, which buys rankings, not accuracy.
The deal we make with you
- Every store we can find gets listed. Nobody pays to appear, nobody can pay to move up.
- BoxSpeed appears on every page as exactly what it is: our own service, clearly labelled, never dressed as a store.
- Where a unit is the better answer for your load, the calculator says so.
